User Reviews

Players praise Mahjong Vacations for its engaging, challenging gameplay, appealing visuals, and long-lasting level-based content with a travel theme. However, recurring concerns include intrusive ads, coin/purchase problems, persistent bugs and performance issues, and a lack of updates/new content. While many view it as one of the best Mahjong games, monetization and stability challenges, plus the need for more destinations and timely updates, temper the overall experience.
Pros
  • Engaging and challenging gameplay with a vacation-themed Mahjong and varied tile layouts.
  • High-quality visuals and animations (tile art and end-of-game card animations).
  • Strong replay value and long-term play (many levels, hours of entertainment, enjoyed for years).
  • Widely regarded by players as one of the best Mahjong games available.
  • World-travel/vacation theme adds variety and keeps the game feeling fresh.
Cons
  • Intrusive, frequent ads after each board.
  • In-app currency and purchase issues (difficulty unlocking destinations, coins vanishing, incorrect charges, hard to contact support).
  • Lack of timely updates/content (few updates over years; requests for more destinations/levels).
  • Bugs and performance problems (unresponsive touch, freezes on some devices, progress loss and achievements not registering).

This is a quality game but very difficult at the same time. You have to play a LOT of games in order to attain goals and advance, and for the somewhat impatient player I can understand them not continuing and just giving up. The steps to advance are extremely difficult and the amount of coins required to “purchase” a new country is costly. On the timed games the touch often doesn’t register, so it delays you when you have to repeatedly touch a tile until it registers, and this aspect has cost me a win many times because I ultimately exceeded the time limit. Also, there could be better explanation as to what the various numbers and colors mean, and it’s not clear what it takes to “complete” a country. The tutorial is very basic and not helpful in this regard. Lastly, it’s not easy to match four tiles in a row; it almost seems as though they are “fluid”, meaning, they change position from underneath various other tiles, to foil you from getting a bonus for getting four of the same tiles in a row. I can’t prove this but it does seem that way. Lastly, the game “teases” you when you start a game and it shows you three tiles of the same theme, but the fourth is buried deep and you’ll never be able to claim all four because eventually you will have to match two of them early on.

I’ve enjoyed this game over the years but recently got a new phone and all of my other apps and games transferred over fine except this one. It saved my progress but I had paid the 100,000 coins to have unlimited undo, shuffle, swap, vision and now those are all gone. I can’t seem to find a way to contact you guys, even on the developer’s website. But this is crazy. And additionally, I’m tired of the game not counting a win if you reach it on the last play. Like if the achievement is to score 2mil in one game and I hit 2mil on my last move, it won’t unlock it. Been doing that forever.

Fun and challenging game. Only complaint is any board that requires a certain score before shuffling just doesn't work. I have completed the challenges multiple times, but it still won't register in the game.
