Ravenna is a beautiful town. It was the western hub of the Holy Roman Empire after Constantine moved his capitol from Rome to Constantinople. The mosaics in the Basilica of San Vitale are jewel like. The designs, and the colors intense and dazzling. This app is fine for a quick overview of the main mosaic works, but the pictures lack definition, the colors lack sharpness. I was hoping for more in depth descriptions and clearer illustrations. This is a basic free app, but I think the simple website of the city of Ravenna, Turismo e Cultura is much broader in scope and there are links to more information. This is probably a good app for an introduction to the main sights and mosaic treasures of Ravenna maybe for a middle school project, or just as a small introduction for a tourist.
