User Reviews

Overall, reviews praise Cut the Buttons for its inventive, unique mechanics, strong attention to detail, and satisfying sound design, with many calling it addictive and fun for long play sessions and even family time. However, multiple reviewers cite practical drawbacks: controls can be janky and hard to use, the game has a steep initial learning curve with limited onboarding, and handedness bias can disadvantage left-handed players. Occasional bugs and fatigue from pinch controls are noted. Addressing controls, onboarding, cross-hand compatibility, and stability would broaden its appeal.
Pros
  • Satisfying, detailed sound design and audio.
  • Unique, innovative mechanics that stand out from other mobile games.
  • Highly addictive and engaging; great for long play sessions and family.
  • Strong overall design and attention to detail.
Cons
  • Controls are janky and hard to use; requires precise two-finger pinch.
  • Steep learning curve / poor onboarding (limited or no tutorial).
  • Handedness bias: primarily right-handed support; left-handed play is inconsistent.
  • Occasional bugs or glitches (e.g., a button not cutting, occasional freezes).
  • Physical fatigue from pinch-style controls during extended play.

Back then people couldn’t recognize peak. I loved and still love this game. Highly underrated and please DO NOT listen to the low ratings, cause again, they didnt recognize peak game design.. the attention to detail with the sound design is beautiful, the mechanics are unique and aren’t seen in any other mobile game, and its just super fun over all. And maybe perhaps back then it might’ve been hard to play cause phones used to be super tiny, but now it’s of decent size and it’s perfect to play. I saw a review saying they don’t make it so left handed players can play, but that is a feature in this game! Maybe that feature wasn’t available when that review was made? 🤷 But yeah I 100% recommend this to anyone looking for a game to cure their boredom !
