User Reviews

Overall, users praise the strong UI and learning tools, including a rich dictionary and English ebook library. However, multiple reviews flag unreliable translations, opaque pricing with aggressive paywalls and billing problems, and stability bugs that hinder use. Content availability outside paid tiers is often limited, leading to frustration. These recurring issues temper otherwise positive impressions of Redict as a learning aid for Russian-English vocabulary.
Pros
  • Fast, clean UI/UX that makes learning focused and pleasant.
  • Comprehensive dictionary with translations, explanations, and pronunciation.
  • Large library of English ebooks with Russian vocabulary-linked definitions.
  • Long-term usefulness and frequent daily use; many users enjoy the app over years.
Cons
  • Translations can be inconsistent or incorrect, offering poor or wrong options.
  • Unclear what content is free vs paid; heavy paywalls, prompts to upgrade, and recurring pro/trial charges.
  • Stability issues: crashes when searching and general performance bugs after updates.
  • Limited free content and confusion about availability, including reports of no books or paid-only access.

Just such a weird preferred translation options for so many words. And you notice it much more not when you read an actual book, but when you have some words in favorite and you want to learn them in lesson page. It just choose the least usable translation for the word, so when you see it in a lesson, you know the word, you know the translation, but you don’t see the right option and just trying to guess, because the app chose some crazy definition for the word. And you can change it by yourself, but come on, I paid for the subscription not to waste most of the time I have for learning not on actual reading or memorizing, but on fixing translation.

Are the books section only for Russian????

I used it a lot and it was a great dictionary with a fast and clean UI. Now it is forcing some kind of AI learning on me with no way to skip. Pity.
