Features & Capabilities

Sodium Tracker is a minimalist, clean and easy to use application for tracking your daily sodium intake. The National Institutes of Heath recommends you eat less than a teaspoon (2300 mg) of salt per day. Using nutrition labels, you can track your sodium intake throughout the day to make sure you're meeting your goal.

• Keep lists of your favorite foods to quickly add them to your daily total • Add other foods from nutrition label information • Set your daily goal from a recommended list

Eating too much sodium can cause health problems that you should discuss with your doctor. If you have been prescribed a low sodium diet, please follow your doctor's instructions for best results.

  • Sodium Tracker is for entertainment purposes only, and should not be considered a medical device.  Always consult a health care professional before beginning any significant diet change.

User Reviews

Users praise Sodium Tracker for its simple, free logging and handy favorites feature with fractional servings. Major drawbacks across reviews include lack of syncing (Apple Health and across devices), no editing/backdating of entries, days locking after midnight, no history view, and limited food search/add capabilities. These gaps hinder long-term tracking and sharing progress, despite the app’s core simplicity and zero-cost approach.
Pros
  • Simple and easy to use for logging sodium from a list of foods.
  • Free to use with no paid unlocks.
  • Favorites feature lets quick add and supports fractional or multiple servings to avoid re-entry.
  • Helpful for daily sodium tracking and health management.
Cons
  • No cross-device syncing, including Apple Health.
  • Cannot edit or delete existing entries or adjust numbers; subtraction not possible.
  • Day ends at midnight and you can’t add to or modify the previous day.
  • No accessible history or past-day viewing; cannot review earlier days.
  • Limited ability to search or add new foods; app can feel like a basic shell.

This is the second sodium tracker I have downloaded. My doctor said I needed to track my sodium intake. I like and will continue to use this tracker because it is simple to make a list of foods and simply choose them when you want to add the sodium from that item to your daily intake. A bonus is there are no payments that are needed to unlock needed features, it’s totally free. You simply touch the + to add a new item to your list, type the name of your item and enter the Sodium amount and then touch add to my favorites. One feature I like about a Favorites list is when you touch the item to add it to your daily total, it also allows you to enter it as a fractional or a multiple of the serving size. This eliminates the need to make multiple entries for different serving sizes. I originally tried another Sodium Tracker and Counter made by Ten labs, however, it was essentially useless without paying for it. in the free version, it would not allow you to save it and you would have to re-enter it every time you wanted it added to your daily total. The only improvements I would suggest would be the ability to edit the title and sodium amount of your food items that you place in the list. Currently, if you make a mistake, you must delete the item and re-enter it. I am tracking my Sodium because I had a heart attack and this brought about to need to track it. As a heart attack victim, it would be helpful for me to also track my liquid intake as well as the fat content of foods. Perhaps this would be a good addition for a paid upgrade.

Thank you for updating the app!! I have used it every day for over 3 years to track my sodium due to having Meniere’s Disease. There is nothing else this simple and easy to use and I tried everything.

It would be great if you added a line to what food you ate when you enter the sodium amount.
