MyWCC

This app makes it harder for me to get my school work done as a student. Starting with logging into my school account on the app, the app is quite literally dumb and makes me input my information (user and PW) like 5 times before it recognized that i should be allowed access to my account. Everything is all over the place. Doesn’t let you access emails easily. Once you spend 10 minutes trying to log into your account, you click on the “view email” button and they want you to log into again 😑 this app is a struggle and enrages me when all I want is to complete my homework. Washtenaw please fix this, your students can’t take it.

No link to email. There’s a link to Flickr, but not WCC email. Given most instructors use email as the primary form of communication with students, this is a major design flaw. I get that social media is cool and we want to appear cool to students, but I doubt very much that they think this app is, or could be cool, or in fact that they care about that. The only reason I see anyone using the app is if it makes life easier. If it is useful. The name is confusing. MyWCC is a link on the website gateway that leads to things like Banner. None of the faculty links seem to be in the app version. If I tell a student to go to MyWCC to find some information, now I’ll have to specify which MyWCC I’m talking about. It’s a great idea but the implementation needs a lot of work. Right now I think it does more harm than good.
