Features & Capabilities

Mars Miner is a strategy Chrome extension that plunges you into a sci-fi mining adventure. You've been kidnapped by the Mars Corp and forced to hunt for artifact pieces buried deep beneath the Martian surface. Mine, build, and upgrade your way toward freedom, with randomly generated mines, valuable gems and ores to sell, and a shop full of gear to help you dig deeper.

User Reviews

Mars Miner is a nostalgic, simple, and engaging mining-style game that many players find addictive and charming, with solid visuals and atmosphere. However, recurring issues dampen the experience: progression is often gated behind paid upgrades, and users report inconsistent delivery of the full game; data persistence problems include lost saves and purchases when changing devices; glitches can burst currency or shorten playtime; and ad-supported variants can interrupt the flow. Overall, it's a beloved time-killer with caveats around purchases, persistence, and balance.
Pros
  • Nostalgic charm and timeless feel; players frequently mention fondness for the game.
  • Simple, addictive mining-style gameplay that's easy to pick up and a solid casual time-killer.
  • Positive audio-visuals and atmosphere (mining sounds, ambient effects, and graphics).
  • Paid full-version upgrade is considered worth it by some players.
Cons
  • Paywalls and gating progress behind the full version, with reports of inconsistent delivery after purchase.
  • Data persistence issues: progress can be lost and purchases may not transfer when changing devices.
  • Glitches or exploits that inflate currency or disrupt game balance.
  • Ads presence or ad-supported progression in some versions.]

Absolutely a childhood favorite for my 2005 self. I hold it on an internalized affection level of that of Minecraft. From the mining sounds to the dripping in the background, this game hasn’t changed and hasn’t degraded over time. Doing research online, it seems Tuna bowl made it biggest with this 2 part series of a game. I hope the developers are doing amazingly. Anyway, it’s free of ads, but does require you to pay for a bigger experience. But honestly, it’s worth it. It is barebones and fundamentally structured, with many options to progress. This is the epitome of AppStore golden age. If I could, I’d help them program game 3.

Fun game BUT it doesn’t save when it says it does. I played for a while, got really far, but when I logged back in, everything is gone. What am I missing.
