User Reviews

Users praise PayPal POS (ex Zettle) for being easy to use and capable of handling inventory, with good PayPal/Venmo integration. However, multiple reviews repeatedly cite serious reliability and account issues: sudden restrictions or funds holds, Venmo/QR code problems, declined card transactions, and inconsistent support. Reporting/tax functions are seen as cumbersome. Overall, it shows potential for small businesses but carries notable risk due to fund-withholding, support gaps, and ongoing processing/reporting frictions.
Pros
  • Easy to use / user-friendly interface
  • Good for inventory/product management
  • Integrates with PayPal ecosystem (accepts PayPal and Venmo)
  • Positive POS solution for small businesses
  • Overall positive impression/strong community sentiment
Cons
  • Frequent account restrictions/holds and withholding of funds
  • Venmo payments not working; Venmo QR codes not active
  • Unreliable payment processing: card payments declined or tap-to-pay failures
  • Poor/inconsistent customer support (bot-based or slow responses)
  • Cumbersome reports and tax-related features (difficult to pull basic sales/tax information)

Just getting started with Pay Pal Business but so far it’s been a great experience adding inventory, products, and services t

After accepting payments for over two months, I suddenly was unable to accept card payments at my last event. I called PayPal and was told my account had been restricted until I detailed what I sold in about 10 transactions, as well as describe my business - something that was already required when setting up my account. My wife had her Square reader with her at my last event, which flawlessly took all my payments for the day. Had it not been for her having her own business as well, I would’ve lost about $250 in sales this past week. After being told my issues would be resolved in 24-48 hours, I am still unable to take payments this weekend. I am done with these people. DO NOT waste your time, effort, patience, or money with PayPal and Zettle. Other processors cost more per transaction, but at least I know from personal experience already that they won’t suddenly stop working when I need them. Update: Their screens for pulling reports for taxes are also an absolute nightmare. Square isn’t too much better, but this was not a great experience either. I urge you to try anyone else.

I’ve been with PayPal from here to Zettle and beyond. A couple years ago, the pos started accepting PayPal & Venmo processing. You create a QR code for a Venmo payment, customer scans it and process is completed. A couple weeks ago, Venmo QR codes are now invalid or not active. It’s still available as a pay option just doesn’t work anymore. PayPal help is non existent because the Bot has no idea how to answer. Posting review here hoping someone will respond
