Pocket Penguins streams African penguins from the California Academy of Sciences in real time, 24/7, with three live webcams showing swimming, diving, nesting, and relaxing. The stream offers insights into penguin behavior and conservation, and includes live Q&A with Academy biologists during meal times.

During daily meal times at 10:30am and 3:00pm PST, experts answer questions from visitors and discuss the penguins' care and biology. This project supports the Species Survival Program for African penguins (Spheniscus demersus) and highlights ongoing conservation efforts. Note: streaming quality depends on your wireless network and data rates.

The camera quality isn’t that great, not at all like the advertised picture in the App Store. And unfortunately the underwater view is in black and white, it looks like the exhibit is small.. and the underwater view shows penguins pacing up and down the glass like they are trying to go through, looks like they need more space. These penguins look very bored and unhappy. Boston Aquarium is completely different, bright and spacious, high energy, you can tell they are pretty happy. This app makes me sad.
