User Reviews

Reviews consistently praise Learn Korean - Phrasebook as beginner-friendly and useful for learning greetings with clear pronunciation. However, most content is gated behind a Pro upgrade and priced high, leading to dissatisfaction with value and perceived bait-and-switch. Some users report purchase restoration problems and app instability (crashes), plus occasional translation errors. Overall, it’s a strong tool for beginners when you’re willing to pay, but pricing, purchases, and reliability are the most common drawbacks.
Pros
  • Beginner-friendly and great for learning greetings and everyday phrases
  • Clear pronunciation and helpful for building basic vocabulary and practical conversation
  • Broad content across multiple categories of phrases (useful for broader learning)
  • Offline access (works without WiFi) for on-the-go study
  • Generally positive learning experience and motivating for learners
Cons
  • Content largely behind a paid Pro upgrade; most features require payment
  • Free content is very limited (non-members mainly get greetings) and pricing feels like bait-and-switch to some users
  • Purchases restoration issues; past purchases not honored and some report re-purchasing frustrations
  • App stability issues including crashes or not opening, with mixed bug reports and support responsiveness
  • Occasional translation errors or mixed-up words; desire for more casual terms and additional features (slower pronunciation, writing, more words)

Nothing but greetings is available for non members

I would give it “zero” if I could for the obvious bait and switch tactic here. I purchased the starter app and additional packs years ago. Now, I find that my purchases are shown as “Pro” for re-purchase again! This is not right and the company needs to fix this issue or credit my account for the additional packs I paid for years ago.
