User Reviews

Affairs of the Court is praised for its immersive, well-written court intrigue and vast branching paths with varied romance options, including LGBTQ-friendly routes. Reviewers also note solid value, especially with a free first part. However, recurring drawbacks include technical bugs (crashes, save/load issues, 20-minute delays) and a monetization model that can feel gate-driven with extra purchases to unlock endings, plus cross-device purchase restoration concerns. Overall, strong storytelling despite stability and monetization concerns.
Pros
  • Immersive, tension-filled story with strong writing.
  • Extensive branching with many endings and romance options, including LGBTQ paths and gender customization.
  • Character-driven focus that emphasizes how and why you make decisions.
  • Free first part and overall value with affordable additional parts.
Cons
  • Technical bugs and crashes, save/load problems, and 20-minute delays that block progress.
  • Monetization gating: upfront cost plus numerous in-app purchases to unlock endings and extra content.
  • Purchases not consistently restoring after device changes.

It’s a pretty great story! You can type your own name and it gives you a lot of love options (tho I wish there was a LITTLE more time to get to know them better. For my ending, I was genuinely on edge with my decisions! Great writing, and very fast story to get thru. I might buy the rest if I have extra money to spend but I’m not big on purchasing apps. (Tho the price isn’t bad at all) The only thing I would ask to change is to add a back button in case I accidentally hit the wrong choice.

You should make it AI based. Took me a hour to get bored. AI would make it unpredictable

I’ve had this game for nearly two years and I got a new phone. I redownloaded the app and pressed restore purchases, I even signed in to Choice of Games and it refuses to give me my purchases from 2023. I have receipts and screenshots. Who do I contact to get either my money or my items?
