User Reviews

Barjees is celebrated for its nostalgic authenticity and simple, family-friendly gameplay with attractive visuals. Reviewers value the authentic look and the way it evokes memories of playing with loved ones. However, multiple users report recurring issues: input challenges where pieces don’t reliably stay put or are hard to move on iPhone; stability bugs like black screens and occasional freezes; concerns that the AI relies on biased dice rather than true randomness; and a lack of online multiplayer or easy ways to play against real opponents. Addressing input, reliability, RNG fairness, and online play would greatly improve the app.
Pros
  • Nostalgic authenticity and an authentic look/feel that mirrors the real Barjees game.
  • Beautiful visuals and elegant, appealing design with nostalgic charm.
  • Simple, approachable gameplay that’s easy for players of all ages.
  • Brings back memories and works well as a family/friend pastime.
Cons
  • Touch input issues: pieces don’t reliably stay in place or are hard to move on iPhone due to detection problems.
  • Stability bugs: black screens on launch and occasional freezes or locks after winning.
  • Perceived AI fairness: dice seem biased, reducing the randomness and challenge.
  • Lack of online multiplayer or easy ways to play against real opponents (requests for online play or social integration).

Great on iPad. Really frustrating to move pips on iPhone…. keep scooting back to starting point.

I like the simplicity but moving the pieces to the green spots isn’t always easy, it doesn’t detect it fast. I would love to play against real opponents online. Also as a beginner it would be helpful if while playing against the computer if it could give some smart recommendations or suggestions, or maybe have a smart summary at the end rating each move done and what could’ve been a better alternative.(saw this at a chess game app) Great app overall, would love to see an update in the near future.🥰

I love “Barjees!” However, after a day or so from downloading it, when I open the app to play, I get a black screen and nothing else. When I delete the app then re-download it, I am able to play. Then the following day, it’s the same thing: a black screen. What is going in?
