User Reviews

Users appreciate Phone Drive for broad file-type support and wireless transfer, plus its ease of use and cost-saving potential by reducing dependence on iTunes/iCloud. However, multiple reviews cite paywalls, stability and playback issues after updates, and performance problems with large libraries or backups. Some users also miss older browser features and request improvements. Overall, it’s valued for file access and transfer when it works, but reliability and cost changes are recurring concerns.
Pros
  • Broad file-type support and built-in viewer/player for documents, audio, and video (e.g., Excel, Word, PDF, MP3, MP4).
  • Reliable wireless Wi‑Fi transfer between PC/Mac and iPhone/iPad.
  • Easy to use and user-friendly interface for downloading and accessing files.
  • Reduces reliance on iTunes/iCloud and saves money.
  • Versatile for personal, business, and organizational use (e.g., useful for church).
Cons
  • Introduction of paywalls/paid upgrades that restrict uploading and transfer features.
  • Stability issues: app crashes or shuts down, especially after iOS updates or with large libraries.
  • Music/playlist playback problems after updates (missing album art, broken playlists).
  • Performance problems with large data backups or transfers; web portal crashes.
  • Regression of features (e.g., missing browser support) and ongoing requests for improvements.
Recent reviews
It does a decent function serving as an intermediate holding area for many of my files. It does have a peculiar behavior however of shutting down lately whenever I send a pdf from another app to it ever since the latest iOS update. But it still works. I just need to relaunch it (w/no loss of content) to continue.
