User Reviews

NW Ferry is valued for ease of use and real-time data, including ferry positions, open spaces, and alerts, plus reservations for some routes, making it an essential tool for regular users. However, reviews repeatedly flag data reliability and timeliness issues, missing features like ETA and favorites, performance problems, platform limitations (watch compatibility) and perceived value concerns. Some users also cite UI/UX annoyances. Overall, the app is useful but its usefulness is limited by data quality, feature gaps, and stability.
Pros
  • Easy to use and quick to read schedules
  • Real-time ferry positions and open space data for planning
  • Alerts/notifications for delays or wait times
  • Reservations on some routes to avoid long lines
  • Indispensable tool for daily ferry users
Cons
  • Data reliability: wait times and space data are often inaccurate or not timely
  • Missing critical features: real-time arrivals/ETAs, favorites, home-screen widget, and complete car-load data on all routes
  • Stability issues: app is slow, crashes, and sometimes fails to update information
  • Platform and cost concerns: Apple Watch app may not open; paid app vs free alternatives; widget feature not delivered as claimed
  • UI/UX irritants: frequent rating prompts and chaotic updates that hurt usability

There are so many things broken about the WSF app I can’t even start. This app needs to be better integrated in the UI needs major simplification.
