Pin Drop has strong core features for dropping pins with notes/photos and map-based organization, useful for trip planning and exploring nearby places. However, persistent bugs, update regressions, unreliable map/pin actions, tagging issues, and monetization frustrations undermine reliability. When stable, the app shines, but reliability and update quality must improve.

Map/pin functionality is unreliable (searching/adding pins broken, pins disappear or bundle when zooming, delete pin issues).
Tag management problems (inability to remove tags, duplicate tags when editing).
Sharing/social features are flaky and monetization via subscription is frustrating for users.

Recent reviews

I’ve used this app for years. I use it for work. I drop things off to customers and I like to keep track of where I’ve been and when I’m close to a previous customer so I can check on the product. I delete a pin when we no longer go to that customer, and the update brought back hundreds of pins that were previously deleted. So now I have no clue if that is a current customer or one that’s supposed to be deleted. I also take pictures at these deliveries and I can’t even view the pictures. App is no longer useable…unfortunately it’s the only one I can find.

This app worked so well for me last year when I joined after another map app ruined itself. I hope it’s just a bug but I am no longer able to click on the name of a location and add it to my pins. If I try, it lists itself as just the address and expects me to know what it’s called and enter my own title for it, which doesn’t work especially when I’m adding somewhere I’ve never been and want to visit. I have to do a lot of extra work looking up the proper name and address elsewhere, which has basically rendered this app useless to me, or at least very hard to use.
