User Reviews

Overall, the app offers strong beginner-friendly drawing lessons with step-by-step guidance, tracing-to-freehand progression, adjustable tutorial opacity, and useful zoom/pan controls, plus a large library of sketches. However, user experience is hindered by persistent issues: no save/resume capability, heavy reliance on paid content, occasional glitches and lag, and precision/erase difficulties on small canvases. Pricing and upsell prompts also frustrate users. If saving, stability, and a fairer content model are addressed, this could be a valuable learning tool for kids and beginners.
Pros
  • Step-by-step guidance is intuitive and helpful for learning.
  • You can start by tracing and gradually move to freehand drawing.
  • UI lets you adjust the opacity of tutorial sketches and move or hide them.
  • Pinch-zoom and pan allow fine adjustments to the drawing.
  • Large library of sketches and beginner-friendly experience (suitable for kids).
Cons
  • No progress saving or resume capability; progress is lost when the device sleeps or you switch apps.
  • Most drawings are locked behind paywalls; content is expensive.
  • App can be glitchy or laggy, affecting usability.
  • Drawing on small areas is hard and erasing/edits can be difficult.
  • Prompts to purchase can feel pushy or misleading about what's free.

I’m enjoying the step-by-step guidance. That’s a very intuitive, safe way for me to learn. Unfortunately, I lose all progress when my iPad sleeps or I switch apps. This is very frustrating and makes me not want to use it anymore. I think they have a lot of potential here so I’ll watch for updates but won’t use it until progress saving is implemented.
