User Reviews

The Magic Piano app is beloved for its nostalgic, relaxing piano experience and the composer feature, with a large song library that many players enjoy for years. However, reviews repeatedly point to a heavy ad‑driven monetization model, a slow/free‑coin economy, and expensive purchases that hinder progression. Technical issues with the composer (loading failures, bugs) and a lack of ongoing updates worsen reliability. Some users worry about ad content and privacy when kids are involved. Overall, the concept shines, but monetization and maintenance issues dominate feedback.
Pros
  • Nostalgic, long‑standing game that many users remember fondly.
  • Relaxing piano gameplay that’s good for chilling and anxiety relief.
  • Composer feature lets players create and arrange music.
  • Large library of songs to play, with free options for long‑time players.
  • Sustained engagement over years, providing lasting memories.
Cons
  • Heavy advertising and monetization (ads after songs, pricey VIP/subscriptions, hard-to-earn coins).
  • Composer loading bugs and frequent issues; stuck on loading; needs updates.
  • In‑game economy is slow and expensive; hard to unlock songs; currency is difficult to grow.
  • Lack of regular updates/maintenance; some features feel outdated or buggy.
  • Ads content concerns and age‑appropriateness risk for kids; privacy considerations.

there’s so much that I hate about this app. YOU LITERALLY can’t get songs unless you pay real money I’ve been ragebaited by this app my whole life it’s hard to play I literally learned real piano so I would never have the misfortune to play this app ever again please take it down (this is half joking I still hate it)

Another great app has been ruined by a pointless mandatory update. I loved Magic Piano as it was and played it whenever I was feeling stressed, so I played it often. Loved the look of it, the sounds, the songs and the scoring. Unfortunately 6.1.1 was released and when I tried to play my older version of it, I couldn't. Kept getting pulled to the update page. Having no choice other than deleting it, I updated. Man what a mess it is now! It looks visually as bad as Apple's IOS 7. The font type is very light and thin, there's way too much white background, and the song titles are nearly impossible to read. And a new design of light pastel colors too. So although the songs are still fun, the song title screen looks horrible and I don't play it as often. I certainly won't be purchasing any more titles for it. The point about updates is allowing choice. Some people might love it. But don't FORCE people into it. I hate it now. Please update and bring back the cool original look. Apple made a design mistake and so have you. I'm also having a lot of stress over the relentless ads that pop up. Some of them, the Disney one for instance does not go away. I have to literally close the app and re-open it. I don't recall the other versions being so advertising heavy. Please remove all these annoying commercials and let us simply play piano.
