However, recurring issues dampen the experience: ads and paywalls gate much of the content; the ePaper is inconsistent or hard to access; the app loses your place when you switch apps and makes saving or sharing articles unreliable; and many dislike the new format and layout, including intrusive top banners. Addressing these would improve reader retention.

How have you created a news app with so much content without a SEARCH bar?!? It is beyond frustrating to not be able to search your articles based on specific search terms. I'd love to read articles about the proliferation of data centers in metro Atlanta, but I'll never know using this app. This is a basic feature. How was this app developed without a SEARCH function?!?
