User Reviews

Reviewers largely praise the app for providing timely weather alerts and daily local updates, with several noting clear temperature readings. However, many repeat concerns about intrusive ads, which some feel overshadow vital information and even affect safety. Users also report crashes, loading failures, and unreliable live radar feeds, along with inconsistent location accuracy and regional coverage. Some critique recent UI changes and map updates as less intuitive, and a number say forecasts and live data aren’t consistently up to date across devices. Overall sentiment is mixed: useful when functioning, but heavily hindered by ads and reliability issues.
Pros
  • Accurate and timely severe-weather alerts (tornadoes, snow, storms).
  • Regular daily weather updates and trusted local information.
  • Clear temperature readings and forecast details.
  • Useful weather notifications for planning and safety when not disrupted by ads.
Cons
  • Excessive ads and pop-ups interrupt access to weather data.
  • Crashes, loading failures, and unreliable live radar/weather feeds.
  • Inaccurate or mismatched location data and limited regional coverage.
  • Unclear UI changes and cluttered interface after updates.
  • Outdated or missing timely forecasts/updates.

I use the WFIE First Alert Weather app regularly because I want a reliable local source, but the overall experience has become increasingly difficult to deal with. I live in 47714, and the weather never matches where I live. I would appreciate money being invested into equipment that would allow localized neighborhood weather. Don't we deserve it?
