User Reviews

A lot of reviews celebrate iMimic as a nostalgic homage to the classic Simon game, noting it’s fun, brain-boosting, and great for playing with family. The app is appreciated for its faithful feel and the free/ad-supported option. However, there are recurring issues: several users report audio problems (no sound or muted on devices); stability problems (crashes/freezes on startup); gameplay glitches like repeating patterns and last-button illumination; and UI/difficulty concerns (small buttons, speed ramp, and desire for easier mode). Overall solid concept with nostalgia factor but needs stability and UX tweaks.
Pros
  • Nostalgic homage to the original Simon game that evokes memories
  • Fun to play and good for memory and reaction training
  • Great for playing with family and friends
  • Free version with unobtrusive ads and an optional ad-free upgrade
Cons
  • Sound issues: some devices report no sound or muted audio
  • Stability problems: freezing or crashes on startup or during play
  • Gameplay glitches: sequences may repeat or the last button may fail to illuminate
  • UI/difficulty concerns: small buttons and lack of adjustable speed or easier mode

I’m really playing it on iOS 11 and it works, just with every time the share your score wouldn’t popup.

Sometimes when I play, it will go through seven or eight tones or colors and on the last what should be the last tone/color, you only hear the tone….the corresponding button doesn’t illuminate causing the user to guess.
