Features & Capabilities

PT Timer: Stretch & Exercise is a timer and rep counter designed for physical therapy. You enter your own exercises with notes, photos, links, and voice cues, and you tune timers to match your therapist's plan so you can focus on form instead of the clock.

User Reviews

Users love the app for deep customization, reliable timing cues, and its ability to support rehab and varied workouts, plus solid support and no login barrier. However, recurring downsides include a subscription‑driven model, a tough learning curve, stability concerns with updates, occasional audio cue issues, and limited media syncing across devices.
Pros
  • Highly customizable and flexible timer that supports multi‑exercise routines, precise timing, and customizable reps/holds.
  • Clear audio/visual cues and voice guidance that help you stay on pace and complete reps.
  • Aids habit formation and long‑term adherence to rehab or fitness programs.
  • Strong developer support and responsiveness when issues arise.
  • No mandatory login and broad usefulness across PT, stretching, HIIT, yoga, and more.
Cons
  • Subscription model gates features and frequently presents licensing prompts at startup.
  • Not intuitive at first and has a steep learning curve to master the interface.
  • Stability issues in updates (crashes) and some reports of outdated maintenance.
  • Audio cues can be unreliable in newer versions, reducing effectiveness for some users.
  • Limited cross‑device syncing and media support (photos/videos) can hinder seamless use across devices.

Every action you try to test in limited mode reminds you you need to pay to preview how the app works. Not worth the effort when a simple habit tracker does the same job. 🙄

I’ve been using it for years and it is the reason I’ve ever done any of my physical therapy exercises. It’s not very intuitive to use, but for me that’s worth it because it’s so customizable. I wish I could export and import csv files so that I could do larger edits to my workouts on a computer in an easier format and then just pop it back into the app. I would pay more for that feature.

1. ALL features are locked until you sign up. Can’t even see how it works. 2. Instructions are confusing, complicated. 3. Help pages links lead to UNSECURED WEBSITES.
