Features & Capabilities

EyeNote is a free accessibility tool for blind and visually impaired users to identify U.S. currency denominations from Series 1996 to present. It uses image recognition and the device’s camera to recognize notes and announce denominations, with privacy-friendly audio cues (voice prompts or beeps) and continuous offline scanning.

Key features include VoiceOver support, offline operation (no data connection needed), one-handed use, orientation-insensitive recognition, English and Spanish language support, and fast response times. Note: EyeNote does not authenticate notes as genuine or counterfeit.

User Reviews

I just updated this app and was happy to see some improvements. However, as a blind person, I cannot always tell if there is sufficient lighting in a room. Please also include a light for this app which similar apps often have.

While testing a few bills my camera pointed down at the floor and recognized a $50 bill from the carpet design. My shoes were in the view too and saw $5 when I move the camera.
