User Reviews

Wizard is praised for its faithful Wizard feel, customization, and solid solo play in a lightweight app. However, users repeatedly lament the lack of true online multiplayer, persistent lag and stability problems, AI fairness concerns, and occasional round glitches. An aging UI on some devices also surfaces. It shines for local/AI play but needs better online capability, reliability, and fair AI behavior to satisfy a broader audience.
Pros
  • Feels like the real Wizard game with convincing AI and authentic gameplay.
  • Highly customizable with house rules and scoring, plus progress auto-save.
  • Easy to learn and great for quick, casual play sessions.
  • Visually appealing card graphics that mimic a physical game.
  • Solid solo/AI play and efficient, lightweight app.
Cons
  • Online multiplayer is limited to local Wi-Fi; remote cross-network play is unavailable or unreliable.
  • Frequent lag, slow performance, and occasional freezes, especially after updates.
  • Perceived unfair AI behavior (bots seeming to know your hand) and inconsistent round rules.
  • Round-logic glitches and occasional bugs causing inaccurate rounds.
  • Outdated UI/look on older devices and performance issues.

The game itself is a great idea but the BOTS know your hand and work against You to ensure your bid is incorrect. Best played with other REAL people, NOT FUN to lose every frick'n time in Solo mode !

You can play this without being on the same wifi network, so that is wonderful. Plays just like the real game. Two changes would help: 1. Allow orientation to change to landscape if players turn their phone to make it easier to see your hand. 2. Enable this app for download on a windows computer (not just Apple) so we could play without straining our eyes. Thank you for making this. It’s our family’s favorite card game!

I love Wizard, and although this app is clearly outdated and runs like it’s made for iPhone 4, this app feels just like a real Wizard game. The CPUs are somewhat predictable but vary in skill, just like a real game. The only downfall is the online aspect of the game, which could benefit from being able to actually play against real people. You can change house rules and scoring, and the game runs smooth.
