User Reviews

Runcoach offers coach-guided plans and structured workouts that some users find effective for marathon training, with value compared with in-person coaching and Strava data integration. However, reviews repeatedly cite downsides: frequent bugs and crashes; a high subscription price with features behind paywalls; inconsistent coaching engagement; tracking and device integrations that are unreliable; and limited plan flexibility that makes it hard to skip or swap workouts. Overall, it’s a mixed experience: strong when it runs smoothly, frustrating when reliability is lacking.
Pros
  • Access to a real coach with virtual meetings and personalized adjustments based on your run data and how you feel.
  • Structured, easy-to-follow training plans with weekly goals that help marathon preparation.
  • Good value for money compared with hiring an in-person coach (annual subscription can be worthwhile).
  • Strava data integration helps track workouts and sync run data with the app.
  • Coach responsiveness and helpful feedback in some users' experiences.
Cons
  • Frequent bugs/crashes and reliability issues; the app is often slow or won't load.
  • High subscription cost and features locked behind paywalls; many feel it isn’t worth the price.
  • Inconsistent coaching engagement; not consistently proactive or responsive to data.
  • Tracking and device integration problems (Strava/Apple Health) and inaccurate data syncing.
  • Limited plan flexibility; cannot easily skip or swap workouts and audio guidance is tied to scheduled days.

My coach (Alex) helped me adjust my training schedule and did it from my run times and input on how I felt. Well worth the yearly subscription compared to hiring a coach in person. He gave me super helpful tips and was able to meet with me virtually when I signed up.

Really disappointed in this app and coaching program. I used it last year to train for my first marathon and found it useful and user friendly. Signed up again this year for another marathon training block and find it really glitchy, takes forever to update content, and lacking the coaching interface that I experienced last year. Would not resubscribe, unfortunately.

I cancelled my membership before the end of the membership year. My payment method was still charged. I reached out on 2 occasions with no response or acknowledgement. However, they are quick to market to you. Quite honestly I feel that this application is on cruise control. I graduated away from Garmin to Coros and this app does not integrate. The interface or UX is very 2012. McMillan Running is way better.
