User Reviews

Edhita is a small, fast editor ideal for plain-text and quick HTML/JS/CSS edits on iPad, with a browser preview and FTP access for remote files. Many users trust it for years. It is ad-supported, with some wanting the option to remove ads. A recurring caveat is saving and file management: no clear Save button, uncertain/hidden saved files, and hard export. It also lacks advanced coding features (Find/Replace, tabs) and has some keyboard quirks, limiting it for larger projects.
Pros
  • Very small, lightweight install suitable for plain text editing.
  • Good for coding on iPad with HTML/JS/CSS support and a browser preview.
  • FTP access lets you edit remote files from the device.
  • Trusted by users and valued for years of use.
  • Straightforward tool for quick edits without needing a laptop.
Cons
  • In-app ads are present, and many want the option to remove them via in-app purchase.
  • Saving and file management are unclear or broken: no obvious save button, saved files in hidden locations, and hard to export.
  • Missing essential coding features: no Find & Replace, no tabbed editing, and auto-capitalization interfering with coding.
  • Navigation/file browsing is awkward—difficulty going up directories and exporting files.

I needed a plain basic text editor. This works great and is a very small install.

Hey! I absolutely love Edhita! It’s an amazing alternative to Caret Editor, which I use for my coding class. I do have a question though. One assignment I have requires inserting a photo link. I have it saved in my files but I’m not exactly sure how to get a photo into the code. Is it possible someone could give me tips or any instruction? I absolutely love Edhita, thank you for making it! :)
