User Reviews

Users like having AutoCAD on iPad for basic drawings and quick viewing, but repeatedly report it's not a full CAD replacement: it lacks essential features, has a non-intuitive UI, troublesome login/subscription flows, and weak file/export support, with language/font limitations. Overall it's a convenient mobile companion rather than a desktop substitute.
Pros
  • Mobile AutoCAD on iPad provides access to drawings away from a desktop
  • You can draw simple objects using desktop-like commands
  • Easy to use for basic drafting on the go
  • Having AutoCAD on a mobile device is convenient for quick viewing and light edits
Cons
  • Missing core CAD features and parity with desktop (e.g., hatch, dimensions, blocks, input coordinates, toolbars)
  • Clunky UX and lack of a desktop-like interface (no toolbars, different command line); difficult to use for professional drafting
  • Login and subscription issues, including requiring a second app to log in and unreliable access
  • File handling/export problems (DXF support limited, downloading and exporting workflow awkward)
  • Arabic language/font support is incomplete or problematic

Ease of use

When I modify a .dwg file opened via “Files App”, its changes are not saved to the original file. Instead, a file of same name with “-1” suffix appears on the recent list on AutoCAD, which however, doesn’t open. So, all the changes are gone.
