Zocdoc is praised for its convenience and all-in-one approach to finding, researching, and booking doctors, saving users time and helping locate in-network providers. However, repeated issues with bookings that vanish or are canceled, inaccurate insurance status, unreliable filters, cross-platform data sync problems, and a flood of emails undermine reliability and trust.

Pros

Everything in one place—providers, reviews, bios, and booking—saving time.
Very easy to book appointments and manage schedules.
Helps locate doctors in-network and within my insurance network.
Efficient and convenient; easier than calling a center.
Provides useful upfront details (bios, reviews) and helps me research providers quickly.

Cons

Bookings are frequently canceled or don’t exist when I show up, wasting PTO.
Inaccurate or misleading insurance/in-network status leading to unexpected out-of-pocket costs.
Filters sometimes don't work reliably, making it hard to exclude unwanted providers.
Data doesn’t sync well between the website and the app, making it hard to repeat bookings.
Too many emails/notifications urging ratings and follow-ups.

Let’s pretend that everything else in the app is perfect: here’s how it lost a star immediately. Zocdoc can add calendar events for your appointments (YAY!) It asks to have full access to all calendars (BOO) no. No ma’am. I have private things in there I don’t want you seeing. iOS lets you give an app “just add” permissions (YAY) Enter the issue. Zocdoc asks for everything, and then if you say no, it gives up. If you manually go and grant it “allow it to add events” permissions, it still asks for everything and refuses to add anything unless it can read/delete everything. Bad. Don’t do that. Squirt bottle.
