User Reviews

Review consensus: The app offers a free, easy-to-use Bible reader with a simple, portable feel, but it's hampered by aggressive paywalls, heavy ads, limited translations, and accessibility/UI shortcomings.
Pros
  • Free basic access / content (the app is advertised as free and several reviewers note that it is free to use/read).
  • Easy to navigate and find chapters, providing a straightforward reading experience.
  • Pocket-sized, lightweight Bible app that feels simple to use on mobile.
Cons
  • Forced paywalls and subscription pressure: many reviewers report being prompted with a free trial, required to enter payment information to read or delete, and a $24.95/year plan.
  • Intrusive ads that disrupt the reading experience.
  • Limited translations (only two English versions) and translation labeling discrepancies (NKJ vs KJV).
  • Accessibility and UI issues (difficulty changing font size, night mode not applying across the app, poor VoiceOver support, and other usability barriers).

It looks like a good bible but I need to pay to use it?? But it shows as free on the App Store.

So you have to pay to read the Bible….. you can’t even read it without having to purchase it!

This app seems harmless enough at first glance, but once you download and install it you are directed to a “free trial” page you can not get out of. I had to force quit, and then manually drag it to the trash to not sign up for their $24.95 per year plan. There are plenty of great resources available that do not manipulate and force you into an automatic billing cycle app.
