User Reviews

Users praise WIFR Weather for accurate, up-to-date radar and reliable storm alerts that help with daily planning. However, many report repeated performance problems after updates—crashes, slow loading, and instability. Ads and data usage are heavy, and recent UI changes clutter the interface and degrade map/radar usability. Some note alert delays or missing warnings compared with other services. Overall, the app provides solid weather information when it loads, but stability, UX, and resource use are recurring complaints.
Pros
  • Accurate and reliable weather reporting
  • Up-to-date forecasts with current radar
  • Timely storm alerts before impact
  • Helpful for daily planning
  • Improved graphics and radar visuals
Cons
  • Crashes and unstable performance after updates
  • Excessive ads and data usage (data hog)
  • Alerts/radar sometimes delayed or missing (behind, not appearing)
  • UI/UX regressions from updates (ruined maps page, cluttered bottom bar, hard-to-use map area)

I am so happy to have needed to add this app while I was on a trip to the Rockford area. I grew up there and moved away many years ago. During one of the springtime storms this last month I loaded the app to watch the weather. I used it to travel back east and forgot about it. Then I got a weather notification for the area I live in. I am getting more up to date weather info from this station with current radar than local information. So I now use this app for my Northeast Ohio weather updates and I can’t thank you enough!! Awesome app!!
