User Reviews

Users consistently praise Playing Time for its simple, easy-to-use interface and dependable per-player minute tracking, plus convenient export and email sharing to parents. It’s valued for helping coaches enforce equal playing time and communicate results. Recurrent drawbacks are the absence of multi-team support and season-long tracking/archiving, along with occasional export stability issues on certain devices. Many requests center on adding season-long archives, sport-specific stats, and a smoother onboarding experience.
Pros
  • Easy-to-use, simple interface.
  • Per-player time tracking across games.
  • Export/share data via text output and email results.
  • Helps enforce fair playing time and keeps parents informed.
Cons
  • No multi-team support.
  • Lacks season-long tracking and ability to save past results.
  • Export can crash or be unstable on some devices.

I have used this app for a couple seasons now. It’s very good for the basic aspect of who’s playing how many minutes. It now has a gauge feature so there’s a visual representation of each player‘s time in relation to the others, which I think is an excellent idea. It does get a little tricky during games to keep up with, but it gives you peace of mind that everybody’s getting their fair share. You can also now save a text file if you wanted to upload it to a spreadsheet for tracking.

Mainly when exporting the time there should be an option of what kind of time format you'd like. Hours Mins seconds etc... makes it easier when transferring to a chart.

The app basically allows you to add your team members one white one in there with the tap the button monitor how much time each player has been playing. It's nice there's an overall game Tyner that you can use at the top of the screen to monitor game time as well. Overall the application seems to be well featured for the price, but set up and initial configuration could use a wizard or additional support rather than digging into settings to configure the app initially.
