Three of the many items I’ve purchased somehow passed through authentication. The first one, a silk Versace top, had a huge 3 1/2 inch rip along the sleeve seam near the chest area. Going back to the ad, I could actually see it while on their mannequin which was easily missed due to the color of the top and the color of the mannequin somewhat blending in. The second top which was Gucci was over 2 inches shorter than advertised. The third top, which was Burberry arrived saturated with cigarette smoke. Don’t you think these things should be mentioned in the authentication report?? Absolutely! What is the purpose of the authentication report?… for an image they can advertise but not hold up? they refused any returns with the exception of the Versace top in which case they wouldn’t cover return shipping(international). I wish I could attach photos to this review because it’s genuinely jaw dropping what they got away with. What options am I left with after receiving something that’s clearly damaged or misrepresented.? I couldn’t be more disappointed with this and will never take another chance. I’ll just stick with The Real Real or even Ebay, who also offer authentication for a smaller fee than Vestiaire. Granted, I’ve received great deals by sellers who except offers, but those three orders that Vestaire refused to let me return was too much. Fool me once, shame on them, fool me 2 and 3 times???… uuhhh, how foolish of me! It was literally their ratings and the way they presented themselves that I trusted, which clearly has been overridden by personal experience now. Regarding the first top, the Versace top, how did the top pass through so many hands at Vestiaire but not one person noticed a huge 3 1/2 inch rip on the upper chest area!?? Clearly there was a person who opens received items from the seller, then there’s someone who places it on the mannequin, then they take it off of the mannequin, then they inspect it and do their “authentication“, then tag it, then package it and ship it. HOW IS THIS CONSIDERED AUTHENTICATION THAT THEY’RE FORCING CUSTOMERS TO OVERPAY FOR? Everyone missed an enormous hole in a thin delicate silk top, which is significantly easier to spot than other materials. In their authentication reports, they should 100% include whether it reeks of smoke since many people are allergic to smoke. Their limited and useless “authentication“ isn’t for the customer’s benefit, it’s so they could check certain boxes and advertise they do authorization, giving people a false sense of security. I guarantee if they had “saturated with smoke“ on their authentication list, many people would decline the order.

I put so much effort in my profile! I wanted it to be a gallery for my favorite ties. Selling was not the priority because these guys take so much money! They can give 5, 6 dollars for a tie they sell for near 20. Then the badges as trusted or expert seller you earn are taken from you, just because the system is "automatic" and sometimes doesn't read you did ship the item on time. And the response from them is: it will be given back in time. It bothered me so much, I told them: please fix this, manually or I'm leaving, it's unfair and your fault. They did it once. But it happened again. And will keep on happening, just because their system does not work and they just think we don't care about it. The custom service is polite but I don't want to be part of something broken. I left as an act of justice.
