User Reviews

LingQ is praised for its reading- and listening-heavy approach with real-world content and broad material across levels. However, recurring issues include stability bugs, a clunky UI, limited language/content availability, pronunciation/voice quality problems, and pricing concerns. Overall, it’s a powerful exposure tool, but users want improved reliability, a smoother interface, broader content and language support, better audio accuracy, and clearer pricing.
Pros
  • Reading- and listening-focused approach with extensive real-world content for strong language exposure.
  • Wide variety of authentic materials and topics, including import options for YouTube and ebooks.
  • Helpful for learners across multiple levels and supports daily, ongoing practice.
  • Regarded by many as a central tool for language learning and immersion.
Cons
  • Stability and reliability issues: crashes, progress not saved, and bugs (including ebook importers) disrupt learning.
  • UI/UX and performance problems: clunky interface, limited customization, and slow word lookups.
  • Content availability and language support limitations: not enough languages and content gating; some languages have very limited material.
  • Pronunciation/voice quality issues: mispronunciations, inconsistent voice readings, and broken generated voices.
Recent reviews
I think DuoLingo is a good app but LingQ is better because it is more immersive. The lesson have more complex word formation but the repetitions of the words creat better learning.
