User Reviews

Users largely praise Strongs KJV for its strong word-study tools (Strong's, Greek/Hebrew), ease of use, and the revival of features after updates. The app is valued for on-device manuscripts, bookmarks/notes, and reliable daily use. However, several recurring concerns surface: perceived changes in translations and removals of original-language warnings; pricing model (subscription) vs one-time payment; post-update UX changes (font handling and navigation) and some device-specific display issues or occasional freezes. Overall, the app is a powerful reference tool that’s appreciated when it runs smoothly, with room for improved consistency and cost model clarity.
Pros
  • Strong's concordance and word-study references (including Greek/Hebrew) are easily accessible within the app.
  • Very user-friendly interface that makes daily reading and in-depth study straightforward.
  • App revival and ongoing updates restore features and improve reliability.
  • Bookmarks and notes are supported and stay accessible after updates.
  • Extensive on-device manuscripts and resources provide quick, offline study.
Cons
  • Translation choices and changes (e.g., H1471 and removal of original-language warnings) raise concerns about accuracy.
  • Pricing model is subscription-based, with some users preferring a one-time charge.
  • Update-led UX changes (font handling and navigation) can reset preferences and feel inconsistent.
  • Device-specific display issues and occasional freezes (e.g., iPhone 12 mini cutoffs) impact usability.

A feature that allows highlighting to be implemented into the app would be amazing, along with a section to view all highlighted verses. Thank you for what you do 🙏🏽

H1471 supposedly “gentiles” a word which didn’t exist in the original translations, its mean is and has always been nations, but in this latest version of this app, it now means foreign nation, or heathen nations. If that is the case then why did God promise Abraham that many nations will come from him, using the exact same word? Why did God tell Rebecca that she has 2 nations in her womb, using the same word? Trying to change God’s word to fit your agenda will end badly for you.

It’s a great study companion . I have had this since it came out. A subscription for this would be wrong just a flat charge should be enough. I have had other apps do that and those of us who paid get left behind because of greed.
