User Reviews

Mil-Dot Rangefinder is praised for its ease of use and automatic range calculations, making targeting faster and accessible. However, it struggles with maintenance and compatibility (OS updates), a fixed range formula that may not fit all scopes, magnification-related issues and crashes, occasional loading problems, and a learning curve due to limited instructions. These recurring themes appear across multiple reviews.
Pros
  • Easy to use with a clean, intuitive interface
  • Automates the math for mil-dot ranging and distance calculation
  • One-handed operation and quick cheat-card setup
  • Field-tested and praised as one of the best Mil-Dot rangefinder apps
  • Helps beginners understand mil-dot ranging by condensing the concept into a simple tool
Cons
  • Ongoing iOS compatibility issues: not updated for the latest iOS versions (e.g., iOS 11+), rendering the app unusable for some users
  • Range formula is fixed and cannot be adjusted to match different scopes, causing inaccurate results for various configurations
  • Magnification display/adjustment problems and crashes when changing magnification, especially with second focal plane scopes
  • App sometimes does not load or remains outdated for long periods
  • Steep learning curve or lack of clear instructions for new users; some users feel guidance is missing

I have been trying to get rid of this app, and all it will allow me to do is MAKE A REFERRAL TO SOMEONE ELSE? It has to go because I don’t trust an Application that embeds itself in my equipment and makes itself an unwanted guest! This App is screwing my I phone up!

Good app, except for the range formula. It is a preset and cannot be modified to a specific scope value. It uses a 1000 factor; whereas my scope formula uses 700, thus, range distance is far off! I'd love this app if Range formula could be adjustable.

The title says it all. On my iPhone X i cannot see what magnification the scope is at and therefore i cant change it either. This renders the entire app useless to me since i cant get an exact mil dot correction.
