Features & Capabilities

iSource Browser is a source-aware web browser for the iPhone & iPad. It is a fully functional web browser with the following additional features:

  • HTML source view

  • WHOIS lookup

  • DIG lookup

  • HOST lookup

  • HTTP Headers - all request and response headers with status codes

  • Javascript debug console - inspection and debugging of WebView controls

  • Full integration with Email, SMS, Twitter, Hipchat, Wunderlist, Asana, Fancy, and more!

As with any web browser, you can surf to any site on the web as you would in Safari, with the added bonus of transparency. With a tap of the screen you can view a page's HTML source, it's HTTP request and response headers, DiG & host information, as well as information detailing who owns and administers the site (whois).

However, iSource's most powerful function is the new Javascript debugging console, where you can inspect console messages, query the DOM, and more! Best of all, it's free.

iSource Browser is a must-have for any IT professional!

User Reviews

Users broadly find iSource Browser handy for viewing and copying page source on iOS and for debugging HTML/JS, headers, and console on the go. It shows native source and is easy to use, making it a reliable last-resort tool. Recurrent downsides include readability issues with the source overlay, inability to load internal/private URLs, intermittent instability (timeouts/crashes), and UI quirks like unresponsive URL input. Some want features like inline editing or fonts/zoom improvements, and a few note the portrait-only limitation. Overall, strong for quick checks, with notable drawbacks.
Pros
  • Easy to view and copy site source on iOS.
  • Useful for debugging HTML/JS, headers, and console on the go.
  • Shows native source without heavy reformatting.
  • Simple and easy to use.
  • Reliable last-resort debugging tool when other options fail.
Cons
  • Source overlay is hard to read; readability needs better font/zoom options.
  • Cannot load internal/private URLs; limited to public domains.
  • Intermittent stability issues: timeouts, crashes, and UI glitches such as undismissable menus or overlays.
  • URL input sometimes does nothing (tap return yields no action).
  • Portrait-only mode and occasional perception of sketchiness/limitations.

I find this app useful as a last resort to view my console because I can’t select text with the app crashing

…. I like this app a lot to be honest, hope the developers work on adding some more cool features. Make it as private and secure as possible lol but so far so good fr

I am hacked, like every account and device, and this app allows me to view the scripts behind the hacks, as well as hagula info, whois, etc. Highly recommend: )
