User Reviews

DraftPad is praised for its ultra-simple, paper-like writing experience and its successful return after years of use. Users love the single-purpose focus and easy export to other apps. However, a recurring theme is the lack of multi-document support and pages, plus occasional stability issues on older devices. Requests for a dark mode and basic print capability also appear. Overall, its strength is simplicity and reliability, with clear gaps around document management and platform stability.
Pros
  • Simple, minimalist, no-fuss writing experience; feels like a sheet of paper and focuses on writing only.
  • Back after a long hiatus and still reliable/top-quality for composing text; many reviews praise its return and continued usefulness.
  • Blank-screen drafting that lets you type and paste quickly without creating new notes or complicated workflows.
  • Easy to export/share drafts to other apps or clipboard, enabling quick reuse elsewhere.
  • Broad appeal and ease of use across users (including kids) due to its basic, straightforward design and functionality.
Cons
  • No support for multiple documents or pages: limited to a single draft, making organization difficult and prompting requests for multi-doc support.
  • Occasional stability issues and crashes on some devices (e.g., older iPhones) or when launching, leading to non-functional scenarios for some users.
  • Missing dark mode/theme options could be a deterrent for some users who prefer UI customization.
  • No printing capability; users expect to print or save in a printable form.
  • Limited data management/persistence expectations (autodelete option or automatic saving across sessions are absent), causing concerns about losing drafts or needing workarounds.

Been using this app for a decade now, randomly thought about it… while I miss the themes, I’m glad this app is back and functions just as good as it did 10 years ago!

So perfect that all I hope for is that it never loses it’s compatibility with any future iOS.

I’ve been looking for something like this for years. Just give me a blank screen to type some stuff that I can cut and paste. Don’t make me create new notes and save them. Just let me type out my Facebook rant without risking hitting the send button to soon.
