User Reviews

Long-time users find value in macro/calorie tracking and accountability, but a recent redesign is widely criticized for reduced usability. Common complaints include difficulty viewing all daily nutrients at a glance, added navigation steps, loss of convenient editing features, and goals that don’t update as expected. Several reviewers also report poor customer support or premium-related frustration. A smaller subset still defends the app for its data and tracking capabilities, but overall sentiment leans negative toward the latest update.
Pros
  • Macro/calorie tracking and accountability help users stay on track.
  • Long-time users rely on the app for data continuity and historical tracking.
  • The free/basic version remains functional for many users.
Cons
  • Major UI redesign is widely criticized for reducing usability, requiring more taps and making navigation feel counterintuitive; many want the old layout back.
  • Nutrients and macros are not easily visible at a glance on the Today tab; users must tap into each meal to see details.
  • Loss of convenient editing features (copying/deleting multiple items or days) slows meal planning and daily logging.
  • Calorie goals/macros often do not update correctly after changes, or change automatically, causing frustration.
  • Customer support is perceived as slow or unhelpful, especially for premium users and billing issues.

ive used this app for over a decade now but it has really fallen from what it once was. Scanning QR codes on food packaging to track accurate macros was once free and now costs a subscription to access. Logging foods in general has become cumbersome. The moment i open the app im bombarded with add and pop ups, after i clear those to log in my breakfast im shown more popups congraulating me for my streak, which makes me have to hunt for the X in the corner before i can continue my log. Scrolling through your past logs isnt user friendly either, once you add one you are taken back up to the very top and have to re-scroll down to find where you were and continue adding more foods. I really only am keeping this app because it has years worth of my foods saved on it, but even logging those has become a chore due to the high amount of visual noise that appears on the screen. I really miss what this app used to be

I just started using this app a few weeks ago and have already lost weight. It keeps me on track and motivated. I’ve tried losing weight for a while but nothing has helped so thank you to this app!!!

I was always an avid MFP supporter, even as other apps came about (some better) I always stuck by MFP. I tracked my 175lb weight loss over the course of 2 years with my fitness pal and it made everything easy. Something has changed however with this most recent update. The UI is horrible, ease of use is horrible, and everything about it has been one giant step backward. Just revert the design!
