However, recurring problems dominate: intrusive ads and pop-ups; auto-playing videos with little or no control (including middle-of-article videos); difficult navigation/search; frequent crashes/bugs; and a VPN requirement that blocks access. These issues overshadow the positives and suggest a need for UI/UX cleanup, stability improvements, and better ad/video controls to improve user experience.

Pros

Auto-playing videos in the middle of articles with little to no control (risk of triggering seizures).
Difficult navigation and poor search/findability within the app (high friction to locate stories).

VPN must be turned off to use the app (access becomes unusable with VPN).

Recent reviews

Many times I get very frustrated with navigating through the WPXI app(and sincerely, the website) . It is hard to find information that you are looking for even if it aired that day. A lot of times the anchor woman or anchorman will say that there’s more information on the website and it is absolutely hard to find. You really have to go down a rabbit hole and it’s frustrating. I would like to be able to access Clark Howard information and (information that comes on at 5 and 6 AM in the morning that helps people save money) at any time of day. There’s all these clips of negative news but something that could be helpful to someone is next to an accessible. I just filled it. A person should be able to find whatever they just saw on TV for at least a few days. Thanks for taking my feedback.

Used to love the news app. WPXI HAD THE BEST! Then, even though it wasn't broke, you fixed it. It's the worst news app. I want to read not watch WPXI videos that are 80% commercials for WPXI. I expect your reporters to be professional however when you shove them down my throat, I wonder.
