Features & Capabilities

Parking Mobility is the premier Chrome extension to report disabled parking abuse and improve accessibility in your community. With a quick three-photo submission, you can report violations to your city, helping enforce accessible parking rules and support people with disabilities.

The app also lets you share, find, and suggest accessible parking locations worldwide, building a crowdsourced map of spots with details like spaces, ramp access, and costs. This empowers neighborhoods to reduce abuse and expand accessible parking options.

User Reviews

Parking Mobility is valued for its educational aim and easy, privacy-conscious reporting with in-app photo evidence. It’s effective where participating departments exist and advocates use it over time. However, it requires department participation, enforces in-app photo capture, often leads to denials or inaction, poses safety risks to reporters, and has UI/bugs. Overall, it’s helpful in some jurisdictions but frustrating or unusable in others.
Pros
  • Promising concept to address accessible parking abuse and mobility needs.
  • Easy to use and quick to report, especially once photos are captured.
  • Photos are stored within the app and serve as evidence rather than on your device.
  • Educational focus helps inform the public about disability parking rules.
  • Used by long-time advocates and authorized users to push for change in participating municipalities.
Cons
  • Effectiveness depends on participation of local police departments; reports may feel useless if departments don’t participate.
  • In-app photo requirements (must capture photos within the app; cannot upload from gallery) create accessibility and convenience barriers.
  • Reports can be denied or not acted on, leading to frustration and perceptions of ineffectiveness.
  • Safety risks for reporters—confrontation or danger when photographing violators.
  • Clunky UI/bugs and workflow issues (order of photos, crashes, inability to upload from gallery).

I have never had a problem using this app and have submitted more than 40 violations. The most common one I find is that people don’t know that they have to hang the placard from their rearview mirror and not just throw it on their dashboard. I’m glad to be a part of a team that keeps handicap parking available for handicap people.

More effective to call non emergency police line. Putting yourself at risk for taking pictures is not worth it especially if they declined your report. Useless app and system.

If your local police department doesn’t work with the app it just feels like a waste of time. Also, I was able to successfully report a couple violations, but now every time I submit a report it immediately goes into an incomplete status even though I completed everything. And there isn’t a way to edit an incomplete report. I like the concept, but it feels like using this app is a waste of time. You’re better off calling your local police department directly using the non-emergency number.
