DS audio provides strong NAS-based streaming and easy setup, but is plagued by login/connection issues, playback instability, and inconsistent CarPlay support, all compounded by a dated UI and sparse updates.

Pros

Streams your own NAS library to the iPhone with solid NAS integration.
Fast setup and easy playlist import; it often just works.
Keeps most music on the NAS and only downloads or streams the tracks you choose to play on the device.
CarPlay support is available (though not always polished), aiding in-car playback.

Cons

Frequent NAS login/authentication prompts and login data not saved across sessions.
Playback frequently skips or stops mid-track, making listening unreliable.
CarPlay integration can be unreliable or half-baked, with login prompts and inconsistent behavior.
App feels neglected with years of bugs and slow updates, resulting in a dated UI.

Absolutely the worst app I have ever used on any phone ever. Constantly disconnects if it connects at all in the first place.

Works fine until your phone switches networks, or from WIFi to 5g and vice versa. Then, it will rapidly rip through your playlist without playing anything. Just song titles fleeting by. You then have to force quit the app or logout / in to your NAS. Like other Synology apps, it leaves me wanting.
