Monal is an open source XMPP messenger designed for privacy and ease of use. It runs with direct server connections, avoids telemetry and ads, and provides OMEMO encrypted chats, group chats, and audio/video calls.

It supports corporate XMPP servers and a suite of XMPP extensions to improve mobility: push notifications (XEP-0357), message carbons (XEP-0280), stream management (XEP-0198), XMPP ping (XEP-0199), and more like Message Archive Management and HTTP File Upload.
