Features & Capabilities

Off Remote lets you turn off, lock, sleep, restart, log off, and even Hibernate a PC or Mac directly from your iPhone or iPad. It automatically discovers devices on your local network and lets you control multiple computers securely with password protection.

Use the timer to schedule actions up to 24 hours in the future—for example, turning off after a download finishes or locking a kid's screen at a set time. You can monitor device status from anywhere in your home and manage energy use without leaving the sofa.

User Reviews

Overall the app is easy to set up and use and delivers on basic remote-control tasks, which many reviewers find valuable and convenient (even enabling screentime controls from bed). However, persistent downsides include a heavy paywall with nag screens, ads in the free version and long wait times, plus reliability bugs and occasional disconnects. Pricing confusion and a less-polished UI also surface in multiple reviews. If you can tolerate the ads and potential instability, it offers practical remote PC control at a low barrier to try.
Pros
  • Easy to install and straightforward to use.
  • Functions as advertised for remote PC control (e.g., turn off/shutdown/sleep) across the network.
  • Highly convenient for managing family screentime or bedtime routines from bed.
  • Free version offers core functionality with optional paid upgrades for more features.
  • Works over your home network without needing to be near the computer.
Cons
  • Heavy paywall and nag screens that block usage without subscribing.
  • Ads in the free version and long wait times (up to 60 seconds) before commands can be sent.
  • Reliability issues like crashes, spinning wheels, blank screens, or inability to connect.
  • Pricing is unclear (one-time fee vs monthly subscription) and can be confusing.
  • UI is not well-liked or feels dated to some users.
Recent reviews
“free”, it’s a massive paywall, you cannot do anything unless you buy the paid subscription, any buttons or clickable icons send you straight too the subscription screen, there isn’t a way too make any function work without that screen, side note, the UI is terrible looking. disappointing.
