Once, when I was a child, I visited the salt crystal caverns in Arizona. While on our tour, the tour guide was telling us stories of history, how the cave was discovered, and so on and so forth. As we winded down a steep path, a woman ahead of me asked, “Has anybody ever died in here?” The guide was stark silent for a moment, before responding, “No; since it’s so dry in here, no organism can remain for a long period, so there are no records of a human dying in these caverns.” She held up her phone and said, “Because I have a ghost app, and it’s going nuts.” Rest in peace, dad, who was on the trip with me. Maybe someday this app will catch you in a salt cavern, begging for beer.
