Features & Capabilities

Tanach for all brings the complete Jewish Tanach to your Chrome browser. The Torah, Nevi'im, and Ketuvim are available offline, with optional English (JPS) and Onkelos translations that can be downloaded within the extension. Navigate quickly to any chapter or Parasha, and switch between punctuation (nikud) or cantillation (teamim) to suit your reading style, including parallel Hebrew-English or Hebrew-Onkelos layouts to enhance learning.

The built-in search finds results in seconds; your last reading position is saved automatically, and you can bookmark verses, add notes, or view Hebrew commentaries. All of this is packaged in a clean, intuitive interface designed for fast study and offline access.

User Reviews

Users praise the app for its ease of use, bilingual layout, and strong search and bookmarking features. However, recurring issues include crashes when adjusting settings or using bookmarks, missing cantillation marks, and reliance on older English translations. Some users also report navigation quirks. Overall it’s a solid study tool when stable, with room for bug fixes and translation updates.
Pros
  • Easy to use and intuitive interface.
  • Hebrew and English side-by-side reading.
  • Powerful search capabilities across the Tanach.
  • Bookmarking with notes and bookmark markers by chapter/portion.
  • Portable and handy for on-the-go study.
Cons
  • Frequent crashes and bugs, especially when changing settings or using bookmarks (and on some devices).
  • Cantillation marks (ta'am) are missing in places, reducing usefulness for cantillation practice.
  • Translation quality relies on older English; many users would prefer modern translations.
  • Some navigation features do not work as expected (e.g., Jump to last position).

Wish that will give you a choice of using vowels with the Stam Sefarad or Stam Ashkenaz. When you press for vowels it does not work Also for translation in English not using the old English It does look that no updates are posted. I wish that the developer monitor and makes improvements to the Tanach application. It is good but can become better……no old English….
