User Reviews

TripIt is praised for centralizing travel plans in one place, robust auto-import from emails, and easy sharing with family. Long-time users value the Pro features and alerts. However, common drawbacks include weak loyalty-program integration (airlines and rewards), reliability issues on Mac/iPad (freezes and spins), inconsistent auto-import from multiple emails, and slow or problematic support. Users also want deeper integrations with other travel apps and more automation (AI, maps, automatic updates) to handle itinerary changes. Overall, it’s a powerful organizer with notable gaps in reliability and ecosystem connections.
Pros
  • All-in-one travel organizer centralizes trips, itineraries, and plans in one place.
  • Automatic import of trip details from emails keeps itineraries up to date.
  • Pro version offers extra features and reliable notifications.
  • Easy sharing with family/close contacts to keep everyone informed.
  • Efficient for planning itineraries across multiple trips.
Cons
  • Limited loyalty-program integration; cannot track airline rewards (e.g., Chase Sapphire, Citi, Marriott) and often requires uploading statements.
  • Reliability issues on Mac/iPad versions (freezes, endless spinner) and compatibility problems with Apple Silicon.
  • Auto-import from emails can be inconsistent, sometimes failing to update from multiple addresses.
  • Support problems: slow responses, difficult to contact, and some ongoing issues (e.g., password reset).
  • Desire for deeper integrations with more travel apps and automated updates (AI features, maps, automatic changes).

I was really hopeful this would be the travel tool that managed my trips and points. Turns out if you use American you have to email them statements which is a non-starter. It cost me $50 to learn that lesson. Tracking flights and trips I have plenty of those tools, but if you can’t track my primary airlines loyalty program then what’s the point. Also, doesn’t track my Chase Sapphire or Citi points. And the Marriott wasn’t working either. Account deleted and lesson learned. Would have been nice to have known this ahead of time.
