Features & Capabilities

Architecture extension brings the world’s finest architectural masterpieces into your pocket with an offline, GPS-enabled guide. It covers major 20th and 21st‑century buildings from around the world, tells the stories of the architects, and presents two photos per project along with walking or driving directions.

No data connection is required — maps and content are stored offline. You can even browse in Flight Mode or without GPS, and search by city to explore new places. Each project includes a full description, the architect, year built, related website, and practical directions, making it an essential tool for travelers and design lovers.

User Reviews

User feedback highlights a strong concept—a compact architecture guide that’s useful for architects and travelers and easy to browse like a set of cliff notes. However, recurring issues drag down the experience: frequent stability problems where the app won’t open, repeated location-loading glitches, and data quality problems (missing landmarks, incorrect locations, and typos). Content depth and imagery are often shallow. The pricing/trial model and perceived value are also criticized, with many wanting longer trial access and better ongoing support. Overall, the idea is solid, but execution is inconsistent.
Pros
  • Very useful architecture guide for architects and travelers; many projects are easily accessible.
  • App is appreciated by architects and enthusiasts for learning about buildings and designers.
  • Feels like architectural cliff notes on a mobile device; convenient quick reference.
  • Overall positive signal that the idea has good potential and content for architecture fans.
Cons
  • Frequent stability issues; the app often won’t open or crashes and gets stuck on location checks.
  • Data quality problems; missing landmarks, incorrect locations, and typos; outdated database.
  • Content depth and imagery are shallow; limited photos and sparse descriptions.
  • Pricing and trial model criticized; short trial (3 days) and questions about ongoing service and value.

The first two sites I wanted to see were flawed. And they don’t offer refunds!!!

Just spends hours "checking location" regardless of location setting. Never opens or functions. So deleted it to clear memory. Good idea, poor execution.

I'm sure it's a great app... If you can get it to open, which, unfortunately, I can't. I'll keep it for a few more days, but if you can't get the glitches fixed I'm afraid I'll have to delete. Sorry! Hope they fix the problems!
