User Reviews

HamLog is a feature-rich ham radio logger with an extensive toolset, robust callsign lookup, easy portability, and value. Many users praise its breadth and customization. However, recurring concerns include export limitations (ADIF/Cabrillo not fully supported), outdated or non-functional call sign lookup, stability issues and occasional crashes, lack of timely developer support, and UI/OS compatibility problems after updates. It remains useful when it works, but reliability and maintenance gaps hinder contests and long sessions.
Pros
  • Extensive all-in-one toolset beyond simple logging.
  • Strong call sign lookup feature that integrates with logs.
  • Customizable fields and POTA/SOTA support.
  • Reliable, well-maintained, and easy to use; good value.
  • Backup via email for log sharing.
Cons
  • Call sign lookup sometimes fails and data is not updated.
  • Export formats (ADIF/Cabrillo) not fully supported—missing fields or export crashes.
  • Stability issues and crashes during logging or export.
  • Poor or unresponsive developer support.
  • UI/OS compatibility issues after updates (broken formatting, dark-mode readability).

It’s understandable that people move on and do different things. I have used the great tool for years, and have enjoyed it, but it is now 2026 and the last update occurred in 2023. QRZ has perhaps modified some things that result in an annoying error every time I start to enter a new contact. It slows me down when the band conditions are good and I’m making contacts. The remaining tools are light weight enough and useful, so I plan to keep this around for those features , but I’m looking for a new logger.

The Reviews are ancient, 10 years or more and there have been so many updates since then . This is May 2025 now. Check the log and tools screen shots to find so many useful tools, I often use the Clock, log, Location, call sign lookup when operating HF portable and POTA and when Adjusting the field antenna it is helpful to have the 1/4 & 1/2 wavelength dimensions.

It is non-functional. Help goes to an Error 404 page. Developer contacted who did respond but no change yet.
