User Reviews

Proloquo2Go is repeatedly praised as a powerful, customizable AAC tool that helps non-verbal users communicate and supports therapy and school use. Reviewers highlight its wide range of voices, layouts, and color options, and its ability to tailor it to individual needs. However, recurring downsides include a steep learning curve, data backup/restore problems, and limited cross-device syncing; billing concerns with upfront costs or unexpected charges; and occasional voice quality changes after updates. Some desire multimedia features and simpler programmer-friendly setup. Overall, high impact when configured well, but usability, data management, and billing risks warrant attention.

  • Rich feature set that supports ongoing learning and daily communication.
  • Positive user sentiment and satisfaction when properly configured.
Cons
  • Steep learning curve and complex navigation for first-time AAC users.
  • Data loss risk and backup/restore difficulties, plus limited seamless cross-device syncing.
  • Billing and pricing concerns, including upfront costs and unexpected charges.
  • Voice quality and consistency issues after updates (e.g., aggressive tones or breathy voices).
  • Customization/setup can be time-consuming and challenging for some users.

I am enjoying the custom features and creativity but I wish I could combine symbols to create new words and I wish it came with desktop version so I can customize it faster and easier
