User Reviews

Users praise ipFob for its intuitive interface and remote control when it works, especially for vacation-remote access. However, multiple reviews point to recurring instabilities after updates that block arming/disarming or require re-login, plus usability and security concerns (small keypad UI, duplicate notifications, vague event history, and login/account issues). Overall, reliability hinges on updates, while usability and security are frequent pain points.
Pros
  • Intuitive UI that puts everything at your fingertips and lets you control multiple devices from the app.
  • Useful remote access to the alarm system (e.g., for vacation home) and remote arming/disarming.
  • When it works, the app is reliable and serves as a centralized control for the security system.
Cons
  • Major updates frequently break core functionality (e.g., forces login, prevents arming/disarming, or causes blank screens), making the app unusable for many users.
  • Usability/readability problems persist (e.g., keypad numbers too small, UI changes reduce ease of use).
  • Security and account-management concerns (not secure; password/login issues; limited or confusing multi-user/account options).
  • Notification/history UX issues (double notifications, event history no longer shows clear zone descriptions or user names).
  • Performance problems (very slow to connect or inconsistent function; app not loading or intermittently failing).
Recent reviews
This is a basic app that I used to remotely arm/disarm my wired security system set up by an installer. Worked for many years until recently (April 2026). Tried resetting password with different emails but doesn’t recognize any password now. Useless. Have not tried customer service as some comments state they have none. One star.
