User Reviews

iReal Pro is a robust practice and jam tool with a vast tune library, flexible tempo/key controls, and useful features for various musicians. The main recurring drawbacks are limited drum variety outside jazz and chart usability issues, such as readability and occasional input delays. Overall, it remains a standout app with room to broaden rhythm options and charting ergonomics.
Pros
  • Extensive tune library and versatile practice tool with flexible tempo, key changes, and the ability to play in any key or tempo.
  • Powerful improvisation training features, including slow-down, transpose, looping, and a built-in rhythm section for practice.
  • Versatile for jazz players, singers, and other solo instrumentalists; replaces bulky real books with printable charts and easy set-list management.
  • Real drums upgrade and a variety of rhythms that improve realism, especially for jazz styles.
  • Strong cross-device syncing and responsive support with regular updates, making it reliable across devices.
Cons
  • Drums lack variety across genres; real drums are jazz-focused, with limited options for non-jazz styles and some tracks feeling repetitive.
  • Chart usability issues: charts can be hard to read quickly and there can be input delays when creating charts; users would benefit from multi-page chart support.

This is pretty much of a scam charging $20 for the app which gives you very little and then asks for more money to make your purchase semi worth it

One little problem - if you set the chord diagrams to “off” they don’t go away like intuition leads you to think. You have to switch back to one of the instruments (guitar, piano, bass) and make sure it’s switched it off there or they won’t go away even if you select “off”. I thought it was broken but it’s just a broken bit of programming. That’s the work around, though. Please fix this, team. If I switch to off, it should turn off. Thank you! Love the app so much! Use it for my original tunes, too! Very good!
